Shamrock Rovers confirms the signing of Will Fitzgerald and the permanent signing of Tunmise Sobowale after an initial loan spell.
Will Fitzgerald goes straight into the squad in a busy period of midweek/weekend games over the coming month. Will is a 27 year old midfielder who joins Rovers from Sligo Rovers for whom he signed in January 2022.
He also had League of Ireland spells with Limerick FC, Derry City and Waterford FC, having cut his junior teeth with Limerick’s under 17s, 19s and Mervue United under 17s. Fitzgerald also won an Ireland U21 cap in 2019.
He has played over 250 games in the LOI in that time and this season has played in all 25 games for Sligo.
Tunmise Sobowale (27) was originally signed on loan terms from Scottish Premiership club St Mirren at the start of this season, and now makes that move permanent on a multi year contract.
